現代語訳
勅使は内匠頭に、仙洞使は左京亮に仰せ付けられる旨を、老中列座のもとで申し渡されたのである。畏れ多くお受けいたします、との御請けであった。また、このたびの公家衆への御馳走の件について、前例の格式をお聞き合わせになることが最もよく、高家衆、なかでも吉良上野助（従四位少将四千石、在所は三州吉良）にお示し合わせになり、首尾よく済むようにと仰せ談じになられた件があるとのこと。御馳走の件は重要に聞こえるので、万事軽やかに調えるようお心得くださいと、但馬守殿が仰せになった。
○一、右の御馳走を仰せ付けられた段について、上野助殿をはじめとして高家衆へ御案内の使者を遣わし、御馳走の件ども、前々より御勤めになった御衆の御格式等を、御留守居の建部喜六、近藤政右衛門が承り合わせて申し上げる。もっとも土佐守様より谷口治兵衛を遣わし、先年御勤めになった御格式ならびに御内證帖まで御貸し進ぜられた。二月七日。

It was announced in the presence of the assembled Senior Councilors that the Takumi-no-kami (Asano) was appointed to receive the imperial envoys, and the Sakyō-no-suke (Date) was appointed to receive the Retired Emperor's envoys. They humbly accepted these appointments with reverence. Furthermore, regarding this occasion of entertaining the court nobles, it was deemed best to consult previous precedents and protocols, particularly consulting with the high-ranking families (kōke), especially Kira Kōzuke-no-suke (Junior Fourth Rank, Minor Captain, 4,000 koku, domain in Kira, Mikawa Province), to ensure everything proceeded smoothly. Since the matter of entertainment was of great importance, Lord Tajima-no-kami instructed that all arrangements should be made with careful attention to detail.
○ Regarding the appointment for this entertainment, messengers were sent to inform Kōzuke-no-suke and other high-ranking families. Concerning the protocols and precedents followed by those who had previously performed such duties, the deputy lords Tatebe Kihachi and Kondō Masaemon made inquiries and reported back. Additionally, Lord Tosa-no-kami sent Taniguchi Jihē, who lent them records of protocols from previous occasions, including even private memoranda. 7th day of the 2nd month.
