御申候は御城も首尾よく引渡相済珍重存候各にも此間苦労に
候旨御申候に付【団右衛門申候は】憚多御尋に候得共此度此元引渡等之義如何御見分

○一、城引き渡しが済んだ後、御用のために残った面々に対し、四月十九日から五月二十一日まで御扶持方を下され、二度にわたって渡された。

団右衛門の件、御城引き渡しが済んですぐに両御目付衆のところへ参ったところ、荒木十左衛門殿が仰せになったのは「御城も首尾よく引き渡しが済み、珍重に存じます。皆様におかれましてもこの間ご苦労様でした」との旨を仰せになったので、【団右衛門が申したことには】恐れ多いお尋ねですが、この度この地での引き渡し等の件はいかがご判断されますでしょうか

Regarding Dan'emon's matter, immediately after the castle surrender was completed, he went to see both inspectors (metsuke), whereupon Lord Araki Juzaemon said, "The castle has been successfully handed over, which I find most commendable. You have all worked hard during this period." In response to this statement, [Dan'emon replied] "I humbly ask your pardon for this presumptuous inquiry, but how do you view the matter of the surrender arrangements here this time?"
