英語訳
He sent word of his departure, and we assumed he was staying in a nearby village, but since his whereabouts by land or sea were unknown, on the same 15th day we reported this to the inspectors while staying at Ikaruga village. Kurōbei had withdrawn from the castle due to illness. Regarding the handover procedures, with just Kuranosuke alone representing both lordships, it would be difficult to manage affairs properly. We inquired whether one person from among the unit commanders, specifically someone from a hereditary chief retainer lineage, should come forward. When we consulted on this matter, we were told that this was indeed a reasonable idea, so Okuno Shōgen came forward and arranged the proceedings. Regarding Kurōbei, he subsequently traveled around the Kyoto area and even met with Lord Toda Uneme-no-shō's Kyoto deputy.
