申度候護持院江は兼而御心易段承及候しからは何とそ宜敷被
仰談被下様に仕度候且亦中川甚五兵衛殿にも得と被仰談貞凉
院様弾正様より御手寄之御方様江何分にも御頼被成候様に
仕度候右之段外江頼入申方無御座候第一貴様御事年来

申し上げたく候。護持院へは以前からお心安い間柄とお聞き及んでおりますので、何とぞよろしくお話し合いをしていただきたく存じます。また、中川甚五兵衛殿にもよくお話し合いいただき、貞凉院様、弾正様よりお手づるのある御方様へ何分にもお頼みいただきたく存じます。この件について他に頼み入れる方がございません。第一に、貴様におかれましては年来のご懇意により、家中の者まで承知しており存じ上げているゆえ、お頼み申し上げます。この度のことでございますので、ご面倒をおかけしますが、お心をお立てくださいませ。詳細については原惣右衛門、岡本次郎右衛門がお聞かせいたします。恐惶謹言。

I wish to make this request. I have heard that you have long been on familiar terms with Goji-in, so I would very much like you to discuss this matter favorably with him. Also, please discuss this thoroughly with Lord Nakagawa Jingobei, and have Teiryoin-sama and Danjō-sama make earnest requests to those with whom they have connections. Regarding this matter, I have no one else to turn to for help. First and foremost, I am making this request to you because your years of kind relations are known even to my retainers. Since this is a matter of such importance, though it may trouble you greatly, please resolve to undertake this task. The details will be explained by Hara Sōzaemon and Okamoto Jirōzaemon. I write this with utmost respect and humility.
