現代語訳
「全く存じません」と申し上げたところ、「きっとお預けを仰せ付けられることでしょう」と存じますと仰せになった。
その後は何事も仰せにならなかった。さて大紋などをお取りになったという。右の趣き、富森助右衛門の一類が右京大夫殿にお仕えしているので、その者が直にこの挨拶を申し上げたということで、助右衛門方へその折に参って話したのである。
○一つ、上野介殿のお傷は顔面二ヶ所、肩一ヶ所、いずれも浅手であったという。内匠頭様には一ヶ所もお手負いになっていない。
○一つ、お城へのお供は建部喜六、先番磯貝十郎左衛門、中村清右衛門、その外例のごとくお供して参った。その到着前、殊の外騒ぎ立ったという。ところがお目付衆がお供の者を召し呼び、「内匠頭殿が喧嘩をなさった御少刀、御大小を持ち帰るように」と（仰せになった）。

Regarding the above circumstances, since one of Tomimori Sukemon's relatives serves Lord Ukyō-no-dayū, that person directly conveyed these greetings, and he came to Sukemon's place at that time to tell this story.
○ One: Lord Kōzuke-no-suke's wounds were two places on the face and one place on the shoulder, all shallow wounds. Lord Takumi-no-kami was not wounded in even one place.
○ One: Those who accompanied him to the castle were Tatebe Kiroku, senior retainer Isogai Jūrōzaemon, Nakamura Seiemon, and others as usual. Before their arrival, there was an extraordinary commotion. However, the metsuke (inspectors) summoned the attendants and ordered them to "take back Lord Takumi-no-kami's short sword and long and short swords that were involved in the fight."
