申候磯部十郎左衛門田中貞四郎も申達し何も合点故其段内蔵助惣右衛門
江申達候処承引不仕候依之源五右衛門十郎左衛門源四郎は致義絶候其後
貞四郎瘡かき崩候故十郎左衛門は源五右衛門江又参候而内蔵助江色々申
断候而人数に加り申候

現代語訳
堀部安兵衛 同弥兵衛
右は江戸に居住している。ただし巳の年の暮れから午の年の春までの居所である。残りの人数は元々居所が不定の者も多い。
一、城明け渡しの件で、片岡源五右衛門のことを内蔵助惣右衛門に色々と申し伝え、人数に入れることを申し出た。
【この条は相違があるような次第ではない】
磯部十郎左衛門、田中貞四郎も申し伝え、皆も合点したので、その旨を内蔵助惣右衛門に申し出たところ、承諾しなかった。そのため源五右衛門、十郎左衛門、源四郎は義絶を行った。その後貞四郎が病気になったので、十郎左衛門は源五右衛門のもとに再び参り、内蔵助に色々と詫びを入れて人数に加わった。
一、巳年六月、荒木十左衛門殿が江戸へお帰りになった後、浅野左兵衛殿の家頼まで

Therefore, Gengorōemon, Jūrōzaemon, and Genshirō severed relations. Later, when Sadashirō fell ill, Jūrōzaemon went to Gengorōemon again and made various apologies to Kuranosuke, joining the group.
