御手紙に而申来る
○一右京大夫殿より申の下刻御死体可相渡旨に付御迎に罷越面々

此外歩行士末々迄右京大夫殿御宅へ暮時参候処御家頼中立合

を置請取候而御乗物に乗御棺之内江御大紋御大小右京大夫殿に而受
取候也御喧 𠵅之節之御少刀御鼻紙袋御足袋御扇子格式之通
現代語訳
手紙にて申し来る。
○一、右京大夫殿より申の刻下刻（午後4時頃）に御遺体をお渡しする旨により、お迎えに参上した面々は以下の通り：
粟谷勘左衛門（用人、二百五十石）、片岡源五右衛門、田中貞四郎（御附届役、百五十石）、磯貝十郎左衛門（同上）、中村清右衛門、建部喜六【以下抹消】
この外、徒士以下末々まで右京大夫殿のお宅へ夕暮れ時に参上した処、御家頼中立ち合いの上、書院の縁側に呼び入れられ、段々と挨拶があった後、御切腹の庭へ案内されて参った。
そこには屏風が建て回してあり、侍が大勢付き添って控えていた。御遺体の左の肩先に御首を置き、これを受け取って御乗物に乗せ、御棺の内へ納めた。御大紋、御大小は右京大夫殿にて受け取った。また御刃傷の節の御小刀、御鼻紙袋、御足袋、御扇子も格式の通り（受け取った）。

[The matter] was communicated by letter.
○ First, since Lord Ukyō-dayū stated that the corpse would be handed over at the latter part of the Hour of the Monkey (around 4 PM), the following people went to receive it:
Kasuya Kanzaemon (retainer, 250 koku), Kataoka Gengorōemon, Tanaka Teishirō (attendant clerk, 150 koku), Isogai Jūrōzaemon (same rank), Nakamura Seiemon, Tatebe Kiroku [text below crossed out]
In addition to these, from foot soldiers down to the lowest ranks, all went to Lord Ukyō-dayū's residence at evening time. There, with the household retainers present, they were called onto the veranda of the study hall, and after various greetings were exchanged, they were guided to the garden where the seppuku had taken place.
There, folding screens had been set up all around, and many samurai were in attendance nearby. The head had been placed by the left shoulder of the corpse. They received it, placed it in the palanquin, and put it in the coffin. The formal crested garment and the two swords were received at Lord Ukyō-dayū's residence. The short sword from the time of the assault, the tissue paper pouch, the tabi socks, and the fan were also [received] according to protocol.
