一兼而蝋燭松明等致持■候へ共彼地に而わつは【わっぱ＝童？】壱人相近け
蝋燭有之所致案内候はゝ命を助け可申と申聞候へは蝋燭
出し呉候に付右之者相助け申候由
▢一神崎与五郎横川勘平少々宛致怪我候由
〇一右之外手負并強怪我仕候者壱人も無之由
■一内蔵助申候は武法に候間勝鬨之式可然とて密に三度勝

鬨之声を揚申候由其後何れも出合候様にと高声に而呼り候へ共
壱人も出合不申候
一焼討之後難如何に候間火之用心念入候様にと申談松明蝋燭
現代語訳
一、かねて蝋燭・松明等を持参していたが、あの場所で童（わっぱ）一人が近寄ってきて、「蝋燭がある所を案内するので命を助けてください」と申し聞かせたところ、蝋燭を出してくれたので、その者を助けたということである。
▢一、神崎与五郎・横川勘平が少々ずつ怪我をしたということである。
〇一、右の外に手負いや重傷を負った者は一人もいなかったということである。
■一、内蔵助が申すには「武法（の定め）であるから勝鬨の式が然るべきである」として、密かに三度勝鬨の声を上げたということである。その後、皆も出て来るようにと高声で呼んだが、一人も出て来なかった。
一、焼き討ちの後では如何なものかと思われるので、火の用心を念入りにするようにと申し合わせ、松明・蝋燭
