何れも立帰屋敷内松明等見繕ひ夫ゟ猶又一同に
無縁寺迄引取申候追手らしき者壱人も不相見屋敷内
もしつまりて人音も無之由
〇一無縁寺へ罷越門を叩き起し門番【人】を以右之段々申達
寺内へ相入休息申度由申達候処住寺へ可申聞旨に而其後
罷出住寺へ申聞候処寺法に而旦那亡者之外暮六時ゟ明六時
迄不通さ他人之出入停止に付何方へなり共御立退可被成との返
答に付再往申込候得共不叶段断候故任其意両国橋迄
罷越何れも屯仕上杉家の討手相待居申候夜無程明候也
現代語訳
皆で立ち返って屋敷内で松明などを準備し、それからさらに一同で
無縁寺まで引き取った。追手らしき者は一人も見当たらず、屋敷内も
静まり返って人の気配もなかった。
〇一 無縁寺へ向かい門を叩いて門番を起こし、門番を通じて右の事情を申し伝え、
寺内へ入って休息したい旨を申し伝えたところ、住職に申し聞かせるということで、その後
出てきて住職に申し伝えたところ、寺の法規により檀那の亡者以外は夕方六時から朝六時
まで通行させず、他人の出入りを停止しているため、どこへなりとも立ち退いてくださいとの返
答であった。再度申し込んだが叶わず断られたため、その意に従い両国橋まで
向かい、皆で集まって上杉家の討手を待っていた。夜がほどなく明けた。

Everyone returned to prepare torches and other items within the mansion, and then all together withdrew to Mueniji Temple. Not a single person resembling a pursuer was seen, and the mansion was completely quiet with no human presence.
〇One: We proceeded to Mueniji Temple, knocked on the gate to wake the gatekeeper, and through the gatekeeper conveyed the above circumstances, requesting to enter the temple grounds to rest. The gatekeeper said he would inform the head priest, and after going inside to speak with the head priest, he returned with the reply that according to temple regulations, except for deceased parishioners, no passage was permitted from 6 PM to 6 AM, and entry by outsiders was prohibited, so we should depart to wherever we wished. We made another request but were refused and turned away, so following their wishes, we proceeded to Ryogoku Bridge, where we all gathered and waited for the Uesugi family's forces.
