現代語訳
五十人前の料理を仰せ付けられたということ。また八時過ぎにお出かけになってお帰りになり、右の両人にお会いになった。いずれも招き寄せて申すべきことを承った。内蔵助も気遣いもあることであろうから、各々からも手紙を遣わすべきである。我等からも御歩行目付三人を申し付けて遣わすと仰せられたので、内蔵助へ手紙を遣わした。
一、伯耆守殿のお宅へ鈴木源五右衛門殿、杉田五左衛門殿、その外御歩行目付九人、石川弥一右衛門、松永小八郎、野村新八、梶山与三兵衛、文右衛門、庄右衛門、助右衛門、九兵衛、御小人目付大勢が参上し、門を堅めて出入りを頻繁に申し付け、御徒目付三人を泉岳寺へ遣わされた。八つ時過ぎに参ったということ。
一、伯耆守殿が登城前に問書一通をお書きになった。左の通り。

A meal for fifty people was ordered. He also went out after eight o'clock and returned, meeting with the aforementioned two men. He heard what should be said by summoning each of them. Since Kuranosuke must also be worried, letters should be sent from each person as well. Since it was ordered that three walking inspectors would also be dispatched from our side, a letter was sent to Kuranosuke.
Item: To Lord Hōki-no-kami's residence came Lord Suzuki Gengoemon, Lord Sugita Gozaemon, and nine other walking inspectors: Ishikawa Yaichirōemon, Matsunaga Kohachirou, Nomura Shinpachi, Kajiyama Yozabee, Bunemon, Shōemon, Sukeemon, and Kyūbee. Many minor inspectors also came, securing the gate and frequently ordering people in and out, and three foot inspectors were sent to Sengaku-ji Temple. They arrived after the hour of the Monkey.
