▢一給仕之者上野介様御父子御働は如何と尋候へは御父子ともに随
分見事成る働に而御座候其外御家来中も恥しからぬ
働有之由申候此外兎角之義咄し不申候
一御城に相詰居申候御徒目附八人仙石伯耆守殿宅へ罷越
家来万右衛門と申者へ致対談候様にと御歩行目付組頭依田十郎兵衛申渡す
一伯耆守殿十五日昼九時過 御城ゟ御帰右注進に参候両人に
御歩行目付を付置御目附水野小左衛門鈴木源五右衛門罷越し泉
岳寺に而御預被成候筈に有之処又伯耆守殿宅へ呼取候筈に相成候間

宴かなと二三返押し返し謡い申した。《割書：【酒を出したことはありえよう、謡ったことは評するに及ばず】｜【誤伝である】》
○一、給仕の者が「上野介様のご父子のお働きはいかがでしたか」と尋ねたところ、「ご父子ともに随分見事な働きでございました。その他ご家来中も恥ずかしからぬ働きがあった」との由を申した。この他とやかくのことは話さなかった。
○一、お城に詰めていた御徒目付八人が、仙石伯耆守殿の宅へ赴き、家来の万右衛門という者へ対談するようにと御歩行目付組頭依田十郎兵衛が申し渡した。
○一、伯耆守殿が十五日昼九時過ぎにお城から帰られた。右の注進に参った両人に御歩行目付を付け置き、御目付水野小左衛門・鈴木源五右衛門が赴いて泉岳寺にてお預かりになる筈であったところ、また伯耆守殿の宅へ呼び取る筈になったので

○One: When a servant asked, "How did Lord Kozuke-no-suke and his son perform in their duties?" the reply was, "Both father and son performed admirably. The other retainers also conducted themselves without shame." Nothing else of consequence was discussed.
○One: Eight foot soldiers' inspectors stationed at the castle went to Lord Sengoku Hoki-no-kami's residence, and the chief of the walking inspectors, Yoda Jūrobei, ordered them to have a discussion with a retainer named Manemon.
○One: Lord Hoki-no-kami returned from the castle on the 15th after nine o'clock in the afternoon. Walking inspectors were assigned to the two men who came with this report, and inspectors Mizuno Kozaemon and Suzuki Gengoemon were to go and have them placed in custody at Sengakuji Temple, but instead it was decided they would be summoned to Lord Hoki-no-kami's residence.
