御徒目付のうち籤取りによって泉岳寺へ赴き連れ参るべき旨を申し渡された。
○一、お預かり方四ヶ所から昼時過ぎに受け取りのため御人数が差し越されたところ、いかなる御相談であったか、何れも引き取った。【様子は奥にあり】
○一、八時半過ぎに仙石伯耆守殿からの御使いとして御徒目付石川弥一右衛門・野村新八・松永小八郎、御小人目付十人が赴いて申し渡されたのは、大石内蔵助へ伯耆守が申すには「皆様方が申し合わせて昨夜吉良上野介宅へ打ち入りなされた旨を両人の物語によって承知いたしましたが、なお承りたい子細がございますので、皆様御同道でただ今拙宅へお越しください」との由。右両人からの手紙も届いた。内蔵助は「恐れ入ります。何れも参上いたします」との由、御請けを申し上げる。右三人の御徒目付が承知の返簡を

Among the foot soldier inspectors, those selected by lottery were ordered to go to Sengakuji Temple and escort [the men] there.
○One: Personnel were dispatched from the four custody locations after midday to take custody, but for some reason—what kind of consultation it was—they all withdrew. [Details are provided later]
○One: After half past eight, messengers from Lord Sengoku Hoki-no-kami—foot soldier inspectors Ishikawa Yaichirōemon, Nomura Shinpachi, and Matsunaga Kohachiró, along with ten minor inspectors—came and conveyed the following message to Ōishi Kuranosuke: Lord Hoki-no-kami said, "I have learned through the account of two men that you all conspired together and broke into Lord Kira Kozuke-no-suke's residence last night. However, there are further details I wish to hear, so please all come together to my residence immediately." A letter from these two men also arrived. Kuranosuke replied, "I humbly accept. We shall all come to pay our respects." The three foot soldier inspectors acknowledged this response in their reply.
