一此度残候者或は妻子扶助之ため奉公仕候者も可有之候将又岡
林杢之助藤井又左衛門大野九郎兵衛安井彦右衛門抔出合不申候哉其
外一味之者無之哉と御尋被成候く内蔵助答に何れも家中一同に
存寄罷在候得共江戸に居合候者之内此度之事急に取懸り
申候に付此様子不存此方よりも難知せ御座候に付洩申候者多く
御座候既に遠国之者は猶以之義に御座候大野九郎兵衛義は私同役
相勤罷在候処内匠頭義申来候と別而十方を失ひ申候内匠頭幼年
より誠に懐内に而守育申候者故年寄に而万事放心仕候に付御城引渡
前他国へ立退せ申候由申上る

一、この度残った者で、あるいは妻子扶助のため奉公している者もいるでしょう。また、岡林杢之助、藤井又左衛門、大野九郎兵衛、安井彦右衛門なども出てこなかったのでしょうか。その外に一味の者はいないのでしょうかとお尋ねになりました。内蔵助が答えて「いずれも家中一同に存じ寄りがございましたが、江戸に居合わせた者のうち、この度のことが急に取りかかりましたので、この様子を存じず、こちらからも知らせることが困難でございましたので、漏れた者が多くございます。すでに遠国の者はなおさらのことでございます。大野九郎兵衛については、私と同役を相勤めておりましたところ、内匠頭の件が起こりますと、特に途方に暮れました。内匠頭は幼年より誠に懐の内で守り育てた者ゆえ、年寄りで万事放心いたしましたので、お城引き渡し前に他国へ立ち退きました」と申し上げました。
