■一 御預けの先々のうち松平隠岐守殿においては、小屋付きの者、給人四人、徒士四人、下男二人を早速行かせ、水取十人の面々へ料理は二汁五菜または七菜、酒は心次第、夜着《註記：羽二重｜絹類》、蒲団、小袖三つ、上帯、下帯《註記：楊枝｜鼻紙》をお渡しになり、不自由のないようにとお申し付けになった。もっとも御座敷の内での放し飼いの囚人として扱われている。もっとも大体のところ煙草盆についてお伺いしたところ、他の御預けとは違うということで、御指図はなされず、ご判断次第の事とおっしゃったとのこと。もっとも侍、足軽を数多くお付け置きになっている。

■One Among the various places of custody, at Lord Matsudaira Oki-no-kami's residence, hut attendants, four stipended retainers, four foot soldiers, and two servants were immediately dispatched. For the ten water-bearers, meals consisting of two soups and five to seven side dishes were provided, sake as desired, night robes《Note: habutae silk | silk fabrics》, futon bedding, three kosode robes, upper sash, lower sash《Note: toothpicks | tissue paper》were distributed, with orders that they should want for nothing. They are indeed treated as free prisoners within the residence grounds. When inquiring about tobacco trays in general, since this differs from other custody arrangements, no specific instructions were given, and it was said to be a matter of individual judgment. Indeed, many samurai and foot soldiers have been assigned [to guard them].
