目ゟは脇差を取上け戴き候処を討候に付内蔵助申候は何れも
尋常に仕度願に御座候存分に押立させ御介借頼入申候由に候間瀬

▢一、吉田忠左衛門が申すには、「この度の夜討ちの頭取は内蔵助と私でございますが、
皆様へ先だって私が切腹いたしますので、内蔵助殿には皆様の最期の様子もご確認いただき、
後からお続きください」と。内蔵助が申すには、「ご希望通り、お先にどうぞ。
後から追いつきます」と。忠左衛門は老年のことなので息切れがひどく、
また股に刀を二つ三つ突き立て、その後介錯をと声をかけたという。
【この次第は不審である】
▢一、初めの二、三人までは正式な作法で腹を切り、声をかけた時分に介錯をしたが、四、五人
目からは脇差を取り上げて頭上に掲げた所を討ったので、内蔵助が申すには「皆様
正式な作法で行いたい願いでございます。存分に腹を切らせて介錯をお願いします」と言ったという。間瀬
