久太夫は先之者とも脇差を取載候所を討申候に付其侭直に押立

久太夫は先の者たちと同様に脇差を取り上げた所を討たれたため、そのまま正式に腹を切ることができなかったという。

▢一、堀部弥兵衛は「某（それがし）七十三歳になりました。腹は切れそうもなく、見苦しいことでしょう。
合図次第、介錯をお願いします」と言ったという。もちろん年寄りは肉が痩せて骨が堅く、お討ち
になりにくいでしょうとて、首筋をひたすらひねり、その後両の股へ三刀ずつ突き
立て、その後に介錯をお願いしますと申した。
