田川九左衛門、酒依唯右衛門、木村孫右衛門、田中六郎左衛門、松下新五左衛門、橋本次兵衛、井口半蔵、土田三郎右衛門、大塚藤兵衛、生瀬十左衛門、三輪喜兵衛、田中代右衛門、前野新蔵。この度必死の人数である。
里村伴右衛門、田中序右衛門、梶半左衛門、近藤新五。この内、京都まで出る者が多い中で、土田三郎右衛門、生瀬十左衛門の件については、京都へは日を置かずに向かったが、右の一義を聞き届けて身振りして逃げ帰ったとのこと。これはこの元で内蔵助の物語として承った。一笑々々。これらは軽い者のことであり、それほど驚くことではない。

Tagawa Kuzaemon, Sakayori Yuiemon, Kimura Magoemon, Tanaka Rokurōzaemon, Matsushita Shingozaemon, Hashimoto Jibei, Iguchi Hanzō, Tsuchida Saburōemon, Ōtsuka Tōbei, Ikise Jūzaemon, Miwa Kibei, Tanaka Daiemon, and Maeno Shinzō. These are the men determined to die this time.
Satomura Ban'emon, Tanaka Joemon, Kaji Hanzaemon, and Kondō Shingo. Among these, many went out to Kyoto, but regarding Tsuchida Saburōemon and Ikise Jūzaemon: they departed for Kyoto without delay, but upon hearing of the aforementioned matter, they made gestures [of alarm] and fled back. This I heard from Kuranosuke's account here at this place. Ha ha ha! These are matters concerning men of little consequence, so we need not be greatly surprised.
