○一、赤穂の面々へ江戸より右の通り追々申し来たので、御道具御片付けの事、札座両替等の事ども、その外申し談じて残らず相済ませた。さて御城において大石内蔵助が上席を務め、何れもへ存じ寄りを申し談じたところ、九郎兵衛を初めとして臆したのか、とかく衆議が一決せず、席を重ねるばかりであった。これにより原惣右衛門が申すには「とかく不同心の御方はこの席をお立ちください」と言ったところ、大野九郎兵衛を初めとして十人ほどが立座した。内蔵助は興醒めして見えた。同志の奥野将監・原惣右衛門・進藤源四郎・小山源五左衛門《割書：内蔵助の伯父》・河村伝兵衛を初めとして「赤穂御城は故内匠頭様が御取り立てになった事、その上上野介殿がご存命であるならば、なおさら赤穂離散の事は甚だ残念な事である。左様であれば、とても籠城などという事は（不可能である）」
