之取次抔仕候由申候浪人衆之内被申候更は面白き前句か冠
はいかゝと被尋候に付冠はなんのそのと申候いさ附候半とて
なんのその岩をもとをせ桑の弓
最早道具も着船すへし命も有ば対面も発足被申候

頼む」とのことで、金子三両を取り出してくださったので、用意をしておきました。九つ時を過ぎて皆々がやって来られ、「うどん、そば切りなどを」と言われました。その間に私がたばこ盆を持ち出しましたところ、「その方は何を家業にしているのか。うどん、そば切りばかりか」と尋ねられました。私が申しましたのは、「この頃はうどん、そば切りも売らず、俳諧の取り次ぎなどをしております」と申しました。浪人衆の中の方が申されるには、「さらに面白い前句か、冠句はいかが」と尋ねられましたので、「冠句はなんのその」と申しました。「いざ付けてみましょう」とて、
なんのその岩をもとおせ桑の弓
「最早道具も着船するでしょう。命もあれば対面も」と言って出発されました。
