本書に落書数々有之といへとも事繁くして
其意味不知もの多き故是を除き其内宜なるも
のを撰て左に記のみ
〇疵をいたみつらうつ恥の己のみ切られて物をおもふ上野介
〇よい事を見ぬ振はせぬ与三兵衛内匠切ったて加増一陪
〇上野は湯漬食かや浅野間に内匠か者にくひ吉良れけり
〇大石に打つふさるゝ吉良の【「家」】根を直すへき上杉もなし
〇内匠けり軽薄武士のめをさます浅野中にも楠そある

落書
本書には落書が数多くあるけれども、事情が複雑で
その意味が分からないものが多いので、これらを除き、その中で適切なもの
のみを選んで左に記すのみ
○傷を痛んでつらく思う恥は自分だけが切られて物思いにふける上野介
○良いことを見ぬふりはさせない与三兵衛、内匠を切ったとて加増一倍
○上野は湯漬けを食べるのか浅野間に、内匠の者に食い殺良れたのだ
○大石に打ち塞がれる吉良の根を直すべき上杉もいない
○内匠蹴り、軽薄な武士の目を覚ます、浅野の中にも楠木正成のような者がいる

○Yosanbei won't let good deeds go unnoticed; even if Takumi was cut down, his stipend doubles
○Does Kōzuke eat rice gruel? In the Asano interval, he was devoured by Takumi's retainers
