到着即刻御屋形江被為召御用有之卯の后刻三次発足仕直に

知安井彦右衛門藤井又左衛門より得と不申越候に付家中騒動仕候
何とそ静候様成手筋被 仰出被下候様に両家老より申越也

内匠頭殿仕合に付内蔵助方思寄之趣幷九郎兵衛存寄之
通令承知候然とも畢竟 上意之趣無違背騒動無

現代語訳
○一 伊藤五右衛門《割書：番頭》三月二十五日夜に三次へ出船し、同二十七日夜亥の刻に三次へ到着した。即座に御屋形へお召しになられ御用があり、卯の後刻に三次を出発してすぐに帰った。馳走人（接待役）は稲田弥六左衛門、磯部左内である。意趣は、吉良殿の生死が分からず、安井彦右衛門、藤井又左衛門からもよく連絡が来ないため、家中が騒動している。何とか静まるような手立てをお命じくださるようにと、両家老から申し越したのである。
○一 五右衛門が帰った際、土佐守様から下された御書の写し
内匠頭殿の一件について内蔵助方の思いの趣き、並びに九郎兵衛の考えの通りを承知いたしました。しかしながら結局のところ、上意の趣旨に違背せず、騒動がないよう末々まで申し伝えるのが然るべきと存じます。これにより、このように申します。恐々謹言

○ Item: Itō Goemon (marginal note: head retainer) departed by boat for Miyoshi on the night of March 25th and arrived at Miyoshi at the hour of the boar (around 10 PM) on the night of the 27th. He was immediately summoned to the lord's residence for official business, then departed Miyoshi in the late morning hour of the rabbit and returned directly. The hosts who received him were Inada Yarokuzaemon and Isobe Sanai. The purpose was that since Lord Kira's life or death was unknown and no proper communication had come from Yasui Hikoemon and Fujii Matazaemon, the domain retainers were in turmoil. Both chief retainers requested that some means be devised to calm the situation.
○ Item: Copy of the letter given by Lord Tosa no Kami when Goemon returned
I have understood the intentions of Kuranosuke's party and Kurōbei's thoughts regarding Lord Takumi no Kami's situation. However, ultimately, it would be proper to convey to everyone, down to the lowest ranks, that there should be no violation of the lord's will and no disturbances. I write this accordingly.
