城を接収するために脇坂淡路守様、木下肥後守様、御目付衆が来月中旬までにお越しになるとのことです。これにより采女正方より各様まで使者をもって申し入れられました際、拙者並びに江戸より派遣されました者二人が近日中にその地へ参ります。案内もない突然のことでございますが、恐れ入りますが町宅への宿泊の件を御役人衆へお申し付け置きくださいますようお願いいたします。そのために急報をもってこのようにご連絡いたします。恐惶謹言

To take possession of the castle, Lord Wakisaka Awaji-no-kami, Lord Kinoshita Higo-no-kami, and the inspector officials will arrive by the middle of next month. Accordingly, when messengers were sent from the Uneme-no-shō side to each of you, I and two others dispatched from Edo will proceed to that place in the coming days. Although this is sudden and without prior notice, I humbly request that you arrange with the officials for lodging at town residences. I send this urgent message for that purpose. With utmost respect and humility.
