一筆令啓上候此度 内匠頭様不慮之御義乍憚奉
絶言語候貴様方御心底察入是非可申様も無御座候各別条
無之候哉承度旨安芸守殿被申候其元御城御受取被
仰付之御衆中様方近日御越に而可有御座候間其節諸事
作法宜御城御引渡無滞相済候様にと被存候各江以使者被
申入候定而追々御家中之面々も御引払候半と被存候差
支申儀も無之候哉是又承度候右之使者井上団右衛門
丹羽源兵衛被申付今朝爰元致発足候間委細両人可為

四月四日に届いた写し
一筆啓上いたします。この度の内匠頭様の不慮の御事件について、恐れながら言葉を失っております。貴殿方のお心中をお察しし申し上げ、何と申し上げてよいかわからない次第でございます。皆様方には別条はございませんでしょうか。承りたい旨を安芸守殿が申されております。そちらの御城の接収を仰せ付けられた御衆中様方が近日中にお越しになる予定でございますので、その節には諸事作法よく、御城の引き渡しが滞りなく済むようにと存じております。各位へ使者をもって申し入れております。きっと追々御家中の面々もお引き払いになることと存じますが、差し支えることはございませんでしょうか。これもまた承りたく存じます。右の使者として井上団右衛門、丹羽源兵衛を申し付け、今朝こちらから出発いたしましたので、委細は両人が申し上げることでしょう。

I respectfully write to you. Regarding the unexpected incident involving Lord Takumi-no-kami, I am at a loss for words, though I dare to express my condolences. I deeply sympathize with your state of mind, and there is nothing appropriate I can say. I hope there are no particular troubles among you all. Lord Aki-no-kami has requested that I inquire about this. The officials appointed to take possession of your castle will arrive in the coming days, and at that time, I hope that all matters will be conducted with proper protocol and the castle handover will be completed without delay. I am sending messengers to each of you. I believe that the retainers of your domain will gradually withdraw, but I wonder if there are any impediments to this. I would also like to know about this matter. As the aforementioned messengers, I have appointed Inoue Dan'emon and Niwa Genbei, who departed from here this morning, so they will provide you with the details.
