大木の切り口、その外の化け物ども、金平がしかりに合い同理にやぶしけん。多くの化け物一度にはっと消えると見えしが、二冊の草紙を残し虚空に。
一行の外題現れたり。三人の□者不思議に思い開き見れば、大木の切り口が□めよりの巧みの構想を現し□草紙なり□□。このまま置かん□本意なしとさっそく、今年の新版に用い、春雨の御慰みに備え奉るのみ。

The stump of a great tree and other monsters were scolded by Kinpira and defeated by the same reasoning. Many monsters seemed to vanish suddenly all at once, but left behind two volumes of popular fiction in the void.
A single-line title appeared. The three □ people thought it strange and opened it to look, whereupon the tree stump revealed from the □ a skillfully conceived □ work of fiction □□. "It would be against our intentions to leave this as it is," so immediately we shall use it for this year's new edition, preparing it solely as entertainment for the spring rains.
