とんだ茶釜は何とぞ一味の者どもを集めて、大木の企てを妨げ、画工・草双紙屋・版元屋の難儀を救おうと思えども、その方法もなく人もなし。ここに享保年中の頃まででき上がった江戸草双紙の始まりである正本というものがある。俗に唐紙表紙と言う。この手下には近付き・薄雪・烏帽子折・金平・兜論その外名高き者おびただしくあれども、今はどら焼き・薩摩芋が世に行われて、正本はあれどもないが如く、土蔵の中に打ち込まれ、あればこれに頼る方もなし。よって茶釜、一服一銭と思いつき、毎日【鱗形屋の印】この蔵の窓まで来たり、委細のことを文にて付け知らせる。

英語訳
The tea kettle somehow wanted to gather like-minded companions to obstruct the large tree's scheme and rescue the artists, kusazoshi publishers, and block-print dealers from their difficulties. However, he had no method or people to rely on. Here there existed what was called "shōhon" (legitimate books), which were the beginning of Edo kusazoshi that had been completed up until around the Kyōhō era. These were commonly called "karakami-hyōshi" (Chinese paper covers). Under these were numerous famous characters such as Chikatuki, Usuyuki, Eboshi-ori, Kinpira, Kabuto-ron, and many other renowned figures. However, nowadays dorayaki and sweet potatoes are popular in the world, and though the shōhon exist, they are as if nonexistent, stored away in warehouses. Since there was no one to rely on, the tea kettle came up with the idea of "one serving for one sen" and came daily to the window of this warehouse [with Urokokataya's seal], sending detailed letters to inform them.
