に黒谷に至り、一寺に入って剃髪し、懇ろに諸子に謂って言った
「吾は上皇の将として官軍に敵対した。誅を免れることはできない。しか
しながら義朝によって降伏を請えば、彼は或いは功を以て吾が命を贖
うであろう。吾は老いた。惜しむに足らない。ただ吾が赦されれば、汝等もまた命
を免れることを得よう」為朝は諫めて言った「不可である。それ上皇は

頼賢以下五人及び幼弟乙若・亀若・鶴若・天王を船岡山
に殺した。為朝は父に別れてより近江輪田に潜居し、昼は
山中に隠れ、夜は村里に出て僕をして僧とし托鉢して食
