The daughter would not agree and said: "He will surely become noble and distinguished in the future," persistently pleading without cease. The aji considered it serious to go against her will and deemed it good, finally permitting the marriage. Satto chose an auspicious day and conducted the wedding ceremony. The aji pitied his poverty and made the dowry and feast very lavish. Satto was not pleased and said to his wife: "You were born into wealth and arrogance and are accustomed to fine ornaments. I am poor and lowly and dare not meet such courtesy." His wife said: "I will simply follow your commands." Thereupon she returned all the clothing and ornaments and went with Satto to a grass hut. The house had only four walls. Satto plowed the back garden and obtained gold nuggets. He therefore built a house on that spot and named it Kingū (Golden Palace). This is the present-day Kingū Shrine in Jiana village. Satto's nature was benevolent and compassionate; whenever he saw those suffering from hunger and cold, he would certainly provide them with clothing and food. At this time, Chinese merchant ships carrying iron ingots arrived at Makiminato. Satto bought all of them, made agricultural tools, and gave them to the farmers. The common people looked up to Satto as they would to parents, and elevated him to become the aji of Urasoe.
