現代語訳
一貞享元年子年七月、堀半右衛門組の池上久五郎の弟軍七郎について、御歩行小頭矢島七兵衛の養子にしたいと申し出たところ、切米取の養子の件は御聴許の例がないので、なお吟味すべきであり、久五郎の書付は返却されたとのこと
同二年丑年七月、池上久五郎の弟軍七郎を御徒小頭矢島七兵衛方へ去年より養子に遣わしていたところ、当月九日に欠落（逃亡）したと申し出があった
また元禄六年酉年十一月、池上久五郎の弟軍七郎について、九年以前に欠落した者であるが、養父矢島七兵衛にも異存がないため、願いの通り御国への帰住をお許しになった
右の通り官記に記載されているが、双方の家に伝承がないため、官記の趣旨を書き置くこと

1. In Jōkyō 1st year, year of the Rat, 7th month, regarding Gunshichirō, younger brother of Ikegami Kyūgorō of Hori Hanemon's group, when a request was made to adopt him as the son of Yajima Shichibee, an ashigaru-kogashira (foot soldier squad leader), it was determined that there was no precedent for granting permission for adoption of stipend rice recipients, so further investigation was needed, and Kyūgorō's written petition was returned.
In the 2nd year, year of the Ox, 7th month, Gunshichirō, younger brother of Ikegami Kyūgorō, who had been sent as an adopted son to okachi-kogashira (foot soldier leader) Yajima Shichibee's household since the previous year, absconded on the 9th day of this month, as reported.
Also, in Genroku 6th year, year of the Rooster, 11th month, regarding Gunshichirō, younger brother of Ikegami Kyūgorō, who had absconded nine years earlier, since his adoptive father Yajima Shichibee had no objections, permission was granted for his return to the domain as requested.
The above is recorded in the official records, but since neither family has any oral tradition of these events, the contents of the official records are noted here.
