言うより早く川島九左衛門は目に余るほどの大石を高く差し上げ、「うん」と言って投げかけた。同時に作右衛門もまた鷹が臥している床へ大木を打ち付けたが、何の音もしない。「これは不審である」と皆々立ち寄って夜具をめくってみれば、夜具の中には禁長ではなく藁束があった。皆々大いに呆れ果て、ただ茫然と立っている時、六右衛門は冷笑して「禁長こそ宵の評議を漏れ聞き、風を食らって逃げたのであろう。今一歩遅かったのが残念だ」という言葉がまだ終わらないうちに、傍らの杉の上から大音声で「やあやあ六右衛門、目が見えないのか。禁長はここにいるぞ。お前ら風情の悪賢いもの、この禁長を謀ろうとは片腹痛い。さあ手並みの程を知らせてやろう」と積み置いた大石大木を頭上から投げかけたので、津田方は大いに騒ぎ「それこそ禁長の謀略に落ち入った。早く足場の良い所へ出よ」と我先にと踏み倒されながら

At the same time, Sakuemon also struck the bed where Taka was lying with a large tree, but there was no sound at all. He hurled the large stones and logs he had stockpiled down upon their heads, causing Tsuda's group to panic greatly. "We've fallen right into Kinchō's trap!
