大事也夫よりは此方より和陸【睦ヵ】を
なし禁長に正一位の官をあたへ

高ふし太平を楽み給ふべし

並居（ならみい）る諸狸等禁長が手並に

時に川嶋九左衛門のいわく高坊の異（い）

などが後詰めをなせば、味方にとって由々しき大事である。それよりは、こちらから和睦をなし、禁長に正一位の官を与えて彼の心を喜ばせ、大将の姫君をもって禁長に嫁がせ、長く一家の縁を結ぼう。そうすれば君にも枕を高くして太平を楽しんでいただけるであろう」と憚ることなく演説したので、並み居る諸狸等は禁長の手並みに恐れていたゆえ、「この案が良いであろう」と一同に申した。大将六右衛門は大いに怒り、「未練な奴原よ。たとえ討ち死にするまでも、あやつに和睦を乞い、縁を結ぼうなどということは、返す返すも口惜しい。重ねてそのような不吉なことを言う者があれば、ただちに食い殺すべし」と歯を食いしばって罵った。その時に川嶋九左衛門が言うには、「高坊の異見はもっともであるが、まだここに利益がある
