一日開野 藤樹寺（ふしのきじ）鷹（たか）討死の事
并川嶋作右衛門狸武勇の事
去程に禁長は千吉の腹に入りて大和が
方に居たりしが昼はひめもす【終日】仕事
の手伝を致し夜に入れば村の老若（ろうじやく）
内の家内を相手となし昔し今
の物語りをなし又は其理を述るに
悉く明らかにして人〳〵感服し
けり時に天保十年四月すへの事
なりしが禁長亭主茂十郎の
前に出両手を突いて申けるは私義
永〳〵御世話に罷成候うへ御宮等も
御建下されんとの御事重〳〵有難奉
存候右に付私分未た官位足らざる所
あり然るに此頃津田浦六右衛門狸穴
観音を流行（はやら）させ専ら諸狸に官を
授け候願くば某（それがし）津田へ参り彼六右衛門
に便り【頼りヵ】速かに正一位の官名を申請

さて禁長は千吉の体に入って大和のところにいたが、昼は一日中仕事の手伝いをし、夜になると村の老人や若者、家の人々を相手にして昔や今の物語をし、またその道理を述べるのに、すべて明らかにして人々は感心していた。その時、天保十年四月末のことであったが、
禁長は亭主茂十郎の前に出て、両手をついて申し上げたのは「私は長い間お世話になっており、お宮なども建ててくださるとのお話、重ね重ねありがたく存じます。そのことについて、私はまだ官位が足りないところがあります。そうしたところ、この頃津田浦六右衛門狸が穴観音を流行らせ、もっぱら諸狸に官位を授けております。願わくは私が津田へ参り、あの六右衛門に頼って、速やかに正一位の官名を申請したい
