〔プロイセン国軍は〕第二十七竜騎兵隊をもってこれを襲撃したが、抗するものは唯一分隊の砲兵隊のみであったため、また大いに敗北を喫した。〇この戦いにおいては、実に輝かしい勝利を顕わした。且つ我が軍が獲得したものは、捕虜・大砲、及び要害の地であった。加えて、勝ちに乗ずる勢いを得た。その退陣するに当たって、かえって我に大きな利益を与えたことは、敵の兵法が疎かであったと言うべきである。その引き揚げを覆い隠さんがために、敵の砲兵隊を戦場の南の境にある丘陵上に備えたが、ただここに数時間集合して立てるのみであった。

[The Prussian national forces] attacked with the 27th Dragoons, but since the only force offering resistance was a single battery of artillery, they suffered yet another decisive defeat. ○ In this battle, a truly brilliant and glorious victory was achieved. Moreover, what our army gained included prisoners of war, artillery, and strategically vital ground. In addition, we obtained the momentum of pressing our advantage in victory. That their retreat actually yielded great benefit to us must be said to reflect the enemy's poor grasp of military strategy. In order to cover their withdrawal, the enemy positioned their artillery on the hills at the southern boundary of the battlefield, but they amounted to nothing more than a force that assembled and stood there for a few hours.
