騎兵が行動を展開するには、その地形が極めて困難であった。しかしながら、終に得られた勝利は甚だ顕著なものであった。〇敵将「フロッサルド」麾下の兵は全く壊滅して離散した。〇敵兵が急ぎ敗走するに当たり、その逃げ去った道路は、大量の食糧・衣服を積載した輜重車があることによって知られた。森林の中は、道もない所を縦横に彷徨い歩いた者たちが充満していた。且つ、各部隊の名が記された大きな行李が所々に散乱しており、その数を知ることができないほどであった。これらはすべて我が兵の分捕り品となった。

The terrain was extremely difficult for cavalry to maneuver. Nevertheless, the victory ultimately obtained was remarkably decisive. ○ The troops under the enemy general "Frossard" were completely routed and scattered. ○ As the enemy soldiers fled in haste, their escape route was made known by the presence of numerous supply wagons loaded with food and clothing. The forests were filled with those who had wandered through pathless areas in all directions. Furthermore, large pieces of baggage bearing the markings of various units were scattered here and there in numbers beyond counting. All of these became spoils of war for our soldiers.
