天より下を見るに、三千世界のことなれば、とてつもなく広いことなれども、雲に乗って歩く者ゆえ、なんの苦労もなく歩き、桜ばかりか、雲か花かと見るくらいばかり。その他は好きな事、風流の方法はきりのないものが多く、とかくにぎやかな所を主に見たがり、さしづめ江戸が面白いとて、日本橋から堺町の方は気の利いた人だと思えば、浅草の群衆人は
では乱暴かと思えば芝の方も、押し分けられぬにぎわいと。ところを見ても目まぐるしいほどの人よ。念もなく面白かり美しいものを見ても、久米仙人の話を聞いているゆえ随分用心するゆえ、雷様のほか一人も落ちた例なし。息子株を見てはうらやましがり、聞けばとんだ流行る。八丈が多かろうとなんぼよく見えるとはいうものの、紛いも本八丈も同じように見えるはずのこと。本当の見るがどくになって、堪忍している者の、八卦通の声には耳をふさぎ、ほととぎすの声は長風にしている。
