是迄者不案内之者有之不被遊

後者前条之通可相心得候様急度

者御裏門通り相成候間以後其都度云々

弘化三年丙午年九月二十二日
一 大名様や旗本様方からの招待の際は、略式の供回りで裏門を通ってお越しになるという指示であっても、正式な供回りでお越しになる方がいらっしゃる場合は、表門を通ってお入りいただくよう申し上げるべきであるとの指示がございました。
弘化三年丙午年十一月三十日
一 殿様が玄関を通ってお出かけになる際は、駕籠にお乗りになった後に門を開くこと。これまでは不慣れな者がいて、まだお乗りにならないうちに門を開いてしまう者もいたが、外から見通せてしまうため、今後は前述の通り心得るよう厳重に指示がございました。以上。
一 殿様が新宿屋敷にお出かけになる際、お帰りは裏門を通ることになるため、今後はその都度の指示はなく、間違いのないよう組方より一人ずつ門開けに出ること。
鍵は大目付の月番から下げ渡すこと。なお茶袴を着用すること。
この際は、お出かけお帰りとも裏門を通ってご往来されます。
下屋敷に限らず、尾張様へのお出かけその他すべて屋敷から西の方へお出かけの際は、裏門をご通行になります。担当部署からもその都度指示があり、表門下番に申し付けて掃除をさせること。
一 裏門を通ってお客様がお入りになる際は、同所の掃除は表門下番に申し付けて行わせること。
一 殿様がお出かけになり供回りが帰る際は、駕籠や槍などは潜り戸から入ること。お迎え出の際も同様のこと。

- When daimyo or hatamoto invite [our lord], even though the instruction is to visit through the back gate with a simplified retinue, if there are those who come with a formal retinue, we should request that they enter through the front gate.

- When our lord departs through the main entrance, the gate should be opened only after he has gotten into his palanquin. Previously, there were inexperienced individuals who opened the gate before he had boarded, but since this allows visibility from outside, henceforth strict instructions were given to follow the aforementioned procedure.
- When our lord visits the Shinjuku residence, since he returns through the back gate, there will be no individual instructions each time. To avoid mistakes, one person from each unit group should come out to open the gate. The key should be provided by the monthly duty ōmetsuke. Tea hakama should be worn.
At such times, both departure and return are conducted through the back gate.
Not limited to the lower residence, when visiting the Owari lord or any other destinations to the west of the residence, passage is through the back gate. The responsible department gives instructions each time, and the front gate lower guard should be ordered to perform cleaning.
- When guests enter through the back gate, cleaning of that location should be ordered to the front gate lower guard.
- When our lord departs and the retinue returns, palanquins and spears should enter through the side gate. The same applies when going out to greet arrivals.
