ただし定まった断りの分は予め御沙汰があり、もちろん
その時々に応じて乗り通りする分はその段階で御番頭様から
御沙汰があることである。
一、御大名様の御名を呼び上げる節、何々少輔様という
御名は、例えば宮内少様とだけ呼び上げ、
少輔と完全に呼び上げ申してはいけないとの御沙汰である。
右は天保二卯年正月元日、安彦平左衛門様
から御沙汰があった。右の通り、某宮内少輔様、
中務少輔様などという御方は、何々少様とだけ、
輔の字を呼び上げから抜いて、決して完全に申してはいけない。
ただしその一方で御沙汰があったが、松平摂津守様の
ことなどは、摂という字を抜いて津守様と呼び
上げ申すようにとの御沙汰があった。

1. When calling out the names of daimyo lords, for names containing "shōyū" (assistant), for example "Kunai-shō-sama" should be called out only as such, and "shōyū" should not be called out in full, according to the directive. This directive was given on New Year's Day of Tenpō 2, Year of the Rabbit, by Yasuhiko Heizaemon. As stated above, for lords such as someone Kunai-shōyū-sama or Nakatsukasa-shōyū-sama, only "something-shō-sama" should be called, omitting the character "yū" from the announcement, and it should never be said in full.
