　地球一周九万里是を唐土の一里六町として日本の一里
　三十六町に算すれは一周一万五千里となるしかる時は
　地心より地上まで凡二千五百里なり此図黒点の間凡
　一千五百里なり今度の地震方二百里と見る時は僅に
　図する所の小円の中に当れり是を以て震動する
　所の徴少なると地球の広大なる事を思ひはかるべし
○愚按するに天地の中造化皆本末あり本とは根本に
　して心（しん）なり心とは震動する所の至て猛-烈なる所を

地球の図

地球一周九万里、これを唐土の一里六町として日本の一里三十六町に計算すれば一周一万五千里となる。そうすると地心から地上まで凡そ二千五百里である。この図の黒点の間は凡そ一千五百里である。今度の地震の範囲を二百里と見る時は、僅かに図示した所の小円の中に当たる。これによって震動する所の微少なることと地球の広大なることを推し量るべきである。

○愚見を述べるに、天地の中で造化には皆本末がある。本とは根本であって心（しん）である。心とは震動する所の至って猛烈な所を【激しい】

○In my humble opinion, within heaven and earth, all creation has its foundation and manifestation. The foundation is the root, which is the "shin" (core/heart). The shin refers to the place where the震動 (seismic movement) is most intense and violent 【fierce】
