者多￣シ其後連-日不＿レ休￣ニ四十余箇日人皆 為（なして）＿レ悩（なやみを）心（こゝろ）-神如＿レ￣シ酔（ゑへるが）云々
現代語訳
三代実録によると、仁和三年秋七月二日癸酉の夜に地震があった。（中略）六日丁丑、虹が東の宮に降り、その尾は天に達し、虹は内蔵寮に入った。（中略）この夜地震があった。
（中略）三十日辛丑の申の刻に地が大きく震動し、数刻にわたって震え、なお止まなかった。天皇は仁寿殿から出て、紫宸殿の南庭に移られ、大蔵省に命じて七丈の幄（とばり）を立てて御在所とされた。
諸司の舎屋および東西の京の盧舎は往々にして顛覆し、圧死する者が多かった。あるいは失神して頓死する者もあった。亥の刻にまた三度震えた。五畿内七道諸国が同日に大震し、官舎の多くが損じ、海潮が陸に漲って溺死する者は数え切れなかった。（中略）八月四日乙巳、地震が五度あった。この日、達智門の上に気があり、煙のようであるが煙ではなく、虹のようであるが虹ではないものが飛び上がって天に達した。ある人がこれを見て、皆「これは羽蟻である」と言った。（中略）十二日癸丑、鷺二羽が朝堂院白虎楼豊楽院栖霞楼の上に集まった。陰陽寮が占って「失火の事を慎むべきである」と言った。十三日甲寅地震があり、鷺が豊楽院南門の鵄尾の上に集まった。十四日乙卯の子の刻に地震があった。十五日丙辰未の刻に鷺が豊楽殿の東鵄尾の上に集まった。（下略）
皇帝紀抄によると、文治元年七月九日未の刻に大地震があり、洛中洛外の堂社塔廟人家が大略顛倒した。樹木は折れ落ち、山川は皆変じ、死する者が多かった。その後連日休まず四十余箇日続き、人皆悩みをなし、心神は酔ったようであったという。

According to the Sandai Jitsuroku, there was an earthquake on the night of the 2nd day of the 7th month, autumn, 3rd year of Nin'na (887 CE), kinoto-tori. (omitted) On the 6th day, teichou, a rainbow descended upon the Eastern Palace, its tail reaching the heavens, and the rainbow entered the Kuraryo (Imperial Treasury Office). (omitted) On this night there was an earthquake.
(omitted) On the 30th day, kanotono-ushi, at the hour of saru (3-5 PM), the earth shook greatly, trembling for several hours without ceasing. The Emperor left Ninjuden Hall and moved to the southern courtyard of Shishinden Hall, commanding the Okurasho (Ministry of the Treasury) to erect a seven-jo curtained enclosure to serve as the imperial residence.
The office buildings of various government departments and the residences in the eastern and western parts of the capital frequently collapsed, with many people crushed to death. Some lost consciousness and died suddenly. At the hour of i (9-11 PM), there were three more tremors. The five provinces around the capital and the seven circuits throughout the provinces all experienced great earthquakes on the same day. Many government buildings were damaged, and seawater surged onto land, with countless people drowning. (omitted) On the 4th day of the 8th month, kinoto-mi, there were five earthquakes. On this day, above Tatsuchi Gate there appeared a phenomenon like smoke but not smoke, like a rainbow but not a rainbow, which flew up and reached the heavens. Someone who saw this said, "These are flying ants." (omitted) On the 12th day, mizunoto-ushi, two herons gathered atop Chododoin Byakkoro, Burakuin Seikaro. The Onmyoryo (Bureau of Divination) divined and said, "One should be cautious of fire incidents." On the 13th day, kinoe-tora, there was an earthquake, and herons gathered on the shibi (decorative roof ornaments) of Burakuin's south gate. On the 14th day, kinoto-u, at the hour of ne (11 PM-1 AM), there was an earthquake. On the 15th day, hinoe-tatsu, at the hour of hitsuji (1-3 PM), herons gathered on the eastern shibi of Burakuden Hall. (abbreviated below)
According to the Kotei Kisho, on the 9th day of the 7th month of the 1st year of Bunji (1185), at the hour of hitsuji, there was a great earthquake. The halls, shrines, pagodas, temples, and houses in and around the capital generally collapsed. Trees broke and fell, mountains and rivers all changed, and many people died. Thereafter, for more than forty days without rest, people all suffered anxiety, their minds and spirits as if intoxicated.
