一 享保十六年（亥年）七月九日、伝左衛門の妻子が飢えて命を失わないよう御慈悲をお願いします。壁師の細工をしているため召し抱えられた者で、十五歳になる実子がおりますが、家業を継ぐことができず、その上最近は勤めの間もないため、番代を立てることが困難です。しかしながら、その身は新参の立場でありながら恐れ入りますが、実子がおりますので、御慈悲の一通りをお願い申し上げます。実情により、伝左衛門の実子に番代をお下しください。三両二人扶持、御先手組入りを申し付けください。

1. Kyōhō 16 (Year of the Boar), 7th month, 9th day: We humbly request mercy so that Denzaemon's wife and children do not perish from starvation. He was a person employed for plastering work, and although he has a legitimate son who is now fifteen years old, the son cannot inherit the family trade. Moreover, recently there have been no periods of service, making it difficult to establish a substitute. However, although his position is that of a newcomer and we are deeply apologetic, since he has a legitimate son, we humbly request one measure of mercy. Due to the actual circumstances, please grant Denzaemon's legitimate son the position of substitute, with a stipend of three ryō and provisions for two people, and appointment to the advance guard unit.
