を予にもとむ燕ら俳歌の友にし
て相識ことひさしけれは辞におよ
はすたゝ怪力乱神をかたらさる
のいましめをまもる人にはいさゝか睠
を避るのおもひなきにしもあら

意を加え容(かたち)を補う。書肆(しょし)の何某(なにがし)は早く
見とどめて版木に刻んで長く残そうとすることを請う。
授けられるに至って六巻となし、陰陽風
雨晦明をもって分かつ。そのままに
『画図百鬼夜行』と題し、すでに
前編三冊が成った。ここにおいて序
を予(私)に求む。燕(石燕)らは俳歌の友にし
て相識ること久しければ、辞退するには及
ばず。ただ怪力乱神を語らざる
の戒めを守る人には、いささか嫌悪
を避ける思いがないにしても
ないわけではない。
