の国を建てようと欲するならば、必ずその腐った言葉も捨ててはならないと申します。この腐った言葉は時
論に適切ではなく、言葉が過激に見えるかもしれませんが、わずかながらの愚かな忠義を黙って
やめることはできず、忌み嫌われることを憚らず、嫌疑を避けずに、見聞きした事実の情況を以下に陳述いたします。
現在、朝廷の政治が一新され、国体が更新されるという
ご盛意を拝承し、各藩が競って領国政治を改革し、勤
王の実績を明らかにしている中、恐れながら当御家においては、まだ一時の
ご変更もなく、朝命に従った政治の実績が立てられて
いないように存じます。すでに昨夏、京都において一時的に噂があり、
当御家は奥羽の諸藩と同様であるという件で、正式に行政
官より仰せ付けられた趣旨もあったため、一同驚愕し、切歯扼腕して当
局へ推参し弁解いたしました。これは全く史官の伝写の誤りから出た
ことで、特に怪しむに足りませんでしたが、退いて三度考えてみますと、当時因循
姑息で安逸を偸み、士気が振るわず、勤
王の実効が徹底しない場合から、結局右の誤謬も
