なしと打てかはりしことの葉に惣太夫もけでんして【怪顛して＝驚いて】
しばしもくしていたりしがやゝありて今此三界（こんしさんかい）悉（しつ）
是吾子（ぜごし）の理を能（よく）悟（さと）り給ひしとはしらで最前（さいぜん）よりの
くり言はゆるし給へさるにても御身さほど明らけき身
心の今迄のふるまひはそも何故ぞやかゝる尊（たつと）き知
識（しき）の又外にあるべきかと伏拝（ふしおか）み〳〵さるにても此うへ
ながら此金子をは受納（じゆのう）有て娘の作善（さぜん）仏事のたすけ
共なしてたべわれはいそぎかへりて此事を一家にいひ
きかせんと立んとするを引 止（とめ）此金は何ほとにても
申請まじ悟（さと）りの上に迷（まよ）ひ有いそぎ持帰り給はれと

よ元来大 欲（よく）不動の眼（め）にかゝるものさへぎらば又もや迷（まよ）ひの
気ざしとも成やせんはやとく〳〵といふにぞ惣太夫も
いはんかたなく此うへはとて持帰りて一 族（ぞく）へしか〳〵のやう
をかたれば惣太夫が帰るを待受居たりしものども此
事を聞て一たびは悦一度はあやしみて感（かん）じうたがひながら
先宿々へ帰りぬ夫より鷲蔵は娘が横死に悪念の情（ぜう）
清々（せい〳〵）粲々（さん〳〵）としていさゝかもくらき事なく非道をなせし
人のもとへ行て身の罪をさんげし身を粉にくだき
昼夜のわかちなくあると有事共 精力（せいりよく）を尽して恩
かへしをしければこれを見聞人々かれが本心の真実（しんじつ）

このように言葉が変わったことに、惣太夫も驚いて、しばらく黙っていたが、やがて「今この三界すべてが我が子であるという理を よく悟られたとは知らず、先ほどからの繰り言は許してください。それにしても、あなたがそれほど明らかな身心でありながら、今までの振る舞いはそもそも何故だったのでしょうか。このような尊い知識が他にあるでしょうか」と伏し拝んだ。「それでも、この上からでも、この金子は受け取って、娘の善行や仏事の助けとしてください。私は急いで帰って、この事を一家に言い聞かせましょう」と立とうとするのを引き留めて、「この金は何ほどでも受け取りません。悟りの上に迷いがあります。急いで持ち帰りください。

そもそも大欲不動の目にかかるものでさえ、遮れば また迷いの兆しともなるかもしれません。早く早く」というので、惣太夫もどうしようもなく、「この上は」ということで持ち帰って、一族にこのような様子を語った。惣太夫が帰るのを待っていた者どもは、この事を聞いて、一度は喜び、一度は怪しんで、感動と疑いを抱きながら、まず宿々へ帰った。それから鷲蔵は、娘の横死によって悪念の情が清々として明らかになり、少しも暗いことなく、非道をなした人のもとへ行って身の罪を懺悔し、身を粉にして砕き、昼夜の区別なく、ありとあらゆることに精力を尽くして恩返しをしたので、これを見聞きした人々は彼の本心の真実を

With such a transformation in his words, Sozaemon was also astonished and remained silent for a while. Eventually he said, "I did not know that you had come to understand so well the principle that all beings in the three realms are our children. Please forgive my repetitive words from earlier. Even so, with such a clear body and mind as yours, what was the reason for your behavior until now? Could there be any other such noble wisdom?" And he prostrated himself in reverence. "Nevertheless, from this point forward, please accept this money and use it to help with good deeds and Buddhist services for your daughter. I shall hurry back and tell my family about this matter." As he tried to stand up, the man restrained him, saying, "I will not accept this money, no matter the amount. There would be delusion upon enlightenment. Please take it back quickly.

Originally, even things that fall under the gaze of great desire and immobility, if obstructed, might again become signs of delusion. Quickly, quickly!" So Sozaemon, having no choice, took it back and told his clan about what had happened. Those who had been waiting for Sozaemon's return heard this matter and felt both joy and suspicion, experiencing both emotion and doubt as they returned to their respective lodgings. From then on, Washizo's evil thoughts became clear and bright due to his daughter's unnatural death, and without any darkness whatsoever, he went to those whom he had wronged, confessed his sins, devoted himself completely, and day and night without distinction, used all his energy to repay his debts. People who saw and heard this recognized the sincerity of his true heart.
