【氷川明神から飛び出る白き鳥】
上平太貞盛は節度使に先立って正月二十四日、武蔵国に到着した。舎弟の繁盛・兼任とも面会し、その軍勢八百余騎で出陣した。氷川明神の社に参詣し、願書を捧げ奉り、兄弟謹んで礼拝したところ、社壇より白い鳥一羽が飛び出て、旗の上を翩翻と舞った。

【A White Bird Flying Out from Hikawa Shrine】
Jōheidai Sadamori arrived in Musashi Province on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, ahead of the military governor. He met with his younger brothers Shigemori and Kanetō, and set out with a force of over eight hundred mounted warriors. They visited Hikawa Shrine, offered written prayers, and the brothers respectfully worshipped there. At that moment, a white bird flew out from the shrine altar and fluttered gracefully above their banners.
