As they scattered and fled in different directions, Hitachi no Suke Genmō alone escaped to the Tone River. Due to the recent heavy rains, the river water had risen and there was no way to cross. On the far shore, a force of about three hundred horsemen had pitched camp and were waiting. Looking at the crest on their banner, it was Mikuriya Saburō Masayori.
