候へと声（こへ）かけければ是は
御旗本（おんはたもと）の内室（ないしつ）をぐして
参（まゐ）り候 通（とを）し給（たま）へといゝけれ
ばあなけしからずや此（この）陣（じん）
中（ちう）に女（おんな）禁制（きんせい）のよし先達（さきだつ）
てかたき御諚（おんおきて）なるに
いかさま癖物（くせもの）なんめれからめ
とれとて二三十人をり
重（かさなり）て生（いけ）どりける
件（くだん）の女を引出（ひきいだ）し事の
よふをたづねければ

現代語訳
【詰問される百姓女房】
「待て」と声をかけたところ、「これは御旗本の奥方をお連れして参ります。通してください」と言った。すると番人は「なんと不届きな。この陣中では女人禁制であることは、先だってから厳しいお達しが出ているのに、きっと怪しい者に違いない。捕らえろ」と言って、二、三十人が取り囲んで生け捕りにした。その女を引き出して事情を尋ねたところ、しかじかの事情を語ったので、「やはりそうか」ということで、大将の御前で両人の首をはね、女には罪がないとして、そのまま帰された。

【The Interrogation of the Peasant Woman】
When they called out "Stop!", the disguised men replied, "We are escorting the wife of an honorable retainer. Please let us pass." The guards responded, "How outrageous! There has been a strict order issued previously that women are forbidden in this military encampment. You must surely be suspicious characters. Seize them!" Twenty or thirty men surrounded and captured them alive. They brought out the woman and questioned her about the circumstances, and she told them the true story. "Just as we thought," they said, and the two men's heads were cut off before the general. The woman, being found innocent, was released and sent home.
