【将為の首を取ろうとする荒川弥八郎】
弥五郎の弟である荒川弥八郎がこれを見て走ってきて、将為の真正面を五、六寸切り裂いた。切られてひるんだところを、草摺を畳み上げて三太刀まで刺し通し、引き倒して首を掻き落とし、味方の陣へと入っていった。
前後十四日間戦い続けたが、将門の一門や従類はことごとく滅亡し、東国はすでに平静を取り戻した。

【Arakawa Yahachirō Attempting to Take Masatame's Head】
Yahachirō of Arakawa, younger brother of Yagorō, saw this and came running. He slashed Masatame's face five or six inches deep. As Masatame flinched from the wound, Yahachirō folded up his kusazuri armor and stabbed through him with three sword strikes, pulled him down, severed his head, and returned to his own camp.
After fighting for fourteen days in total, Masakado's entire clan and followers were completely destroyed, and the eastern provinces had already returned to peace.
