現代語訳
【公連を苦々しく見る将門】
「我が一族の滅亡を見るよりは、身を潔くして死のう」と言って、着物の上半身を脱ぎ、左の脇腹に刀を突き立て、右の脇腹まで切り口を長く引き回し、腸を手繰り出して、うつ伏せに倒れて死んでしまった。その場にいた全員がこれに興ざめして、その日の評議は止めになってしまった。
