にて候いかでか
國司（こくし）にたひし

現代語訳
【淑人に申し開きをする者】
ということでございます。どうして国司に対して弓を引くことができましょうか。今後は朝廷のために身命を投げ打って軍功を励むつもりでございますので、一時の罪をお許しください」と丁寧に述べた。
淑人は許可を与えて、すぐに自分の配下に加えたので、それ以後は海路を遮る敵もなくなり、四月二十日に伊予国に到着した。

[Those Making Excuses to Yoshihito]
—that is our situation. How could we possibly draw our bows against the provincial governor? From now on, we intend to dedicate our lives and exert military service for the imperial court, so please forgive our temporary transgression." They spoke respectfully.
Yoshihito granted them permission and immediately incorporated them into his forces. After that, there were no more enemies blocking the sea routes, and on the twentieth day of the fourth month, they arrived in Iyo Province.
