江戸え出候而吉原ヲ通り成田之方へ参り候所
男壱人連ニ相成三人ニ而成田へ参詣致候所右
之連之者是ニはわかれ可申と申候ニ付娘申候
は是迄御連ニ相成御世話ニ相成候間宿迄御連
申何か上ケ度候へ共途中ニ而上ケ候事も出来
不申と申候へは夫ほとの事ならは髪の毛ヲ少
し貰度と申候ニ付夫は安キ事ニ候床屋ニ而刺
上ケ可申申候へは先々ゟ之連の人申候は我は
元髪結も致候間 刺刀（カミソリ）も所持致居候何より之品
ニ候間我等もわけ可申と申そり初メ候所不残
そり落され候心持ニ候間少しは御残し被下候
様申候へは不残はそり不申候是ニ而宜しと申
男子のやうニ中計そり髪も男まけニ結候而右
之髪を両人ニ而わけ壱人はわかれ夫ゟ元の市
川へ出府中へ夜四ツ時帰り連の人は何方へ参

江戸へ出て、吉原を通り成田の方へ参ったところ、
男一人が連れに加わり三人で成田へ参詣いたしました。その
連れの者が「ここでお別れしなければなりません」と申したので、娘が申すには
「これまでお連れいただき、お世話になりましたので、宿までお連れして
何かお礼をしたいのですが、道中でお礼をすることもできません」と申すと、「それほどのことでしたら髪の毛を少し
いただきたい」と申したので、「それは簡単なことです。床屋で剃り
上げましょう」と申すと、以前からの連れの人が申すには「私は
元々髪結いもしておりますので、剃刀も所持しております。何よりの品
ですから、私どももお分けいただきましょう」と言って剃り始めたところ、全部
剃り落とされそうな気持ちがしたので、「少しはお残しください」と
申すと、「全部は剃りません。これでよろしい」と申し、
男子のように中ほど剃って髪も男結びに結って、その
髪を両人で分け、一人は別れました。それから元の市川
へ出て、府中へ夜四つ時に帰りましたが、連れの人はどちら方面へ参ったか
見えませんでした。それから裏木戸を頻りに叩き、九
日目に帰ったので、皆々驚いて色々聞いたところ、そのような
わけ合いで、その後は誠に疲れた様子で、ただうつらうつら
としていたそうです。
この留守中に取り持ちをしていた老婆が御召捕りになり、厳しく
