先日栃木辺へ参り候浪人又々出流え集り候所
八州取締方役人鉄炮等持参ニ而参候所右浪人
え行逢岩舟と申所ニ而炮発召捕四十壱人其余
は退散致候由右召捕人さんさく致候へは何方
ともしれ不申集りものゝよし江戸え引候程の
ものも無之候ニ付四十壱人へ不残首をはね候

中大騒ぎだったそうです
先日栃木辺りへ行った浪人がまた出流へ集まったところ、
八州取締方の役人が鉄砲等を持参して来たところ、その浪人と
行き会い、岩舟という所で砲撃戦となり四十一人を召し捕り、その他
は退散したそうです。その召し捕った人を詮索したところ、どこの
者とも知れず申さず、集まりものだそうです。江戸へ引いて行くほどの
者もいないので、四十一人全員の首をはねた

The masterless samurai who went to the Tochigi area the other day gathered again at Izuru, where
officials of the Eight Provinces Patrol arrived with firearms and other weapons. They encountered the masterless samurai
and engaged in gunfire at a place called Iwafune, capturing forty-one men. The others
scattered and fled. When they interrogated the captured men, they found that they were of unknown origin
and would not say where they were from - they were just a gathering of ronin. Since there were no
men worth taking to Edo, they beheaded all forty-one
men, according to Ogawa Hikojuro's account.
